CHABLIS
Domaine de l'Eglantiere
Being the largest in the Chablis appellation, our estate
streches over about 100 hectares. The Chablis is a very clear wine, fresh,
light and fruity, its flavour develops easily.
The 1995 vintage is one of the most balanced in the past ten years. In 1966, the harvest
took place in excellent conditions and, though the wine is still young, we place much hope
in this vintage.

CHABLIS Premier Cru
Fourchaume
With 17 hectares, the Durup
estate is the major owner in the appellation area of Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume.
Facing West, with some plots looking South, the Domaine is concentrated in the commune of
Maligny, generally located in small valleys with a microclimate favouring concentration
and richness.
|
Supple and
lasting, the 1995 vintage is amongst the most balanced of recent years.
The 1996 has taken advantage of the concentration of heat accumulated during the summer,
favouring richness. |
Chablis 1er Cru
" L'homme mort "
The Chablis 1er Cru Lhomme mort is the largest of eight crus forming La
Fourchaume. The Durup estate is again the major owner with 13 hectares entirely
located in Maligny.
This wine is a perfect choice with foie gras. |
Chablis
1er Cru
" Vau de vey "
On a 200 meter long slope located in a beautiful valley, but with a gradient of 45 or
50°, difficult to farm, the Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey is a small two
hectares property in the Durup estate. An ideal companion for grilled fish. |
Chablis
1er Cru
" Montée de tonnerre "
The Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is particularly representative of
the Chablis vineyard and stands for the most famous. The nature of the soil gives a good
mineral character.
Goes well with shellfish and in particular with oysters. |
Chablis
1er Cru
" Montmain "
The Durup estate farms only a small area of vines of the Chablis 1er Cru Montmain.
Exposed South, sitting on a clay limestone soil, it is bit heavier than other Chablis.
It reveals itself with goat cheese or Brie and Coulommier. |
